In banking and capital markets law, I have represented investors, issuing houses, banks and financial service providers in court and arbitration proceedings, in defending and enforcing claims for damages (e.g. due to allegations of not having provided sufficient information about the risks of a financial investment or of having breached ad hoc publicity obligations) for many years. Since 2019 alone, I have assisted my clients in more than 600 civil proceedings and in a large number of model declaratory proceedings, one of which ended with a leading decision of the BGH in favour of the founding shareholders of a public fund. I also support my clients in the area of compliance and in the design and regulatory enforcement of financial investments vis-à-vis BaFin, both in the area of debt and equity capital and in relation to mezzanine capital.
In intellectual property law, my particular focus is on trademark strategies and the development and monitoring of a trademark portfolio. This includes trademark searches and trademark applications, both in Germany and Union trademarks and international IR trademarks, securing priority abroad and coordinating trademark applications outside Europe with the help of a global network of highly specialised advisors in trademark law. I manage trade mark portfolios at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). I also represent my clients in infringement proceedings, i.e. I warn trade mark infringers and, if necessary, enforce my clients’ claims for injunctive relief by way of interim injunction and/or in the main proceedings, whether in court or before the DPMA, EUIPO and WIPO.
My corporate law advice includes the restructuring of companies, corporate transactions and, in particular, shareholder disputes, including representation in court.
